What do to with an "Unsellable" Property

We've heard it a hundred times... "They said my house was unsellable". Friends, no matter what someone has told you about your property, I am here to bust right through that myth. You ALWAYS have options.

At Dove, we're property experts. That doesn't just mean we're real estate experts, although we are, but we're more than that. We understand property. We understand the real estate market. We understand how mortgages and lending work. And we know how to help people who have a property that they no longer want, but have been told that it's "unsellable" in its current state.

Brian Haigler

Let me introduce you to Brian Haigler. He's our property mastermind with a heart for helping others. In fact, that's why we know what to do with property that has been deemed "unsellable".

Back in 2007 when the market turned and jobs were hard to come by, Brian had a friend that needed to move. But his friend owned a house with a mortgage in a market where it was almost impossible to sell a home for what you paid for it. That's where the saying "underwater on your mortgage" came from. It means that you owe more on your home than you could sell it for. A LOT of people were in this position, and couldn't see a way out.

So, Brian started to look at these types of situations and think through some creative solutions, factoring in things like how much money is owed on the property, when the owner needed to move, etc.

Brian was able to come up with some options for home owners, like his friend, that helped them move on without the burden of their "unsellable" property.

There's not exactly one specific thing you can do with a property that has been called "unsellable". There are actually a few options for owners depending on your unique situation. You can:

  1. Make a few repairs and cosmetic updates to make your house more appealing to buyers.

  2. Sell your property as is to an investor. They're usually not deterred by a little work. Note: we're not talking about the "We Buy Homes" signs on the side of the road. Make sure you're working with a legitimate investor who isn't going to try to scam you.

  3. You can hold onto your property and rent it out.

And there are more even more options for you depending on your situation and goals.

The best advice we can give you is to let a property expert, like Dove, help you. Don't take the first word as the last word. You. Have. Options. It's just a matter of doing a little research to figure out what are the best options for you, so you can make an informed decision.

We would be honored to help you. We understand what it's like to be in a tough situation and not see the way out. Let us take a look at your property and learn about your situation and your story, and give you some options.

If you've been told you have an "unsellable" home, you don't. Contact Dove today, and let us help.
